We stayed overnight at a mountain Refugio. Nice dinner and decent 4 person bunk rooms (with the boyz Mark, Neil and William)
I felt really good today... I think my head cold is reducing, and it was a superb day in the Italian Alps!
Everyone had a terrible night's sleep... Mostly due to shutting the window and roasting all night, plus I was paranoid about snoring (which I think I did only a little?). My head cold was also unpleasant and I had a headache etc. But the night passed and by the morning (after a neurofen) I felt pretty ok.
Some brave guys and gals trekked up the local mountain for the freezing sunrise, but I decided to forgo that pleasure and try to get some zing back. (Good choice, Dave)
The day started with a lovely single track descent traverse.
Out of the blue, Maria twisted around and managed to dislocate her shoulder! Me and the boys were with her, and we heeded her frantic directions to yank down on her arm and bash her shoulder to try to put it back in. We were successful when I was pulling down and big Will gave her a massive bear hug! All rather panicked. Soon after, Simon arrived who knew all about dislocated shoulders and Maria soon had her arm in a sling. She and Simon headed out to find transport to civilization. Maria was amazingly brave and tough! Hopefully she can rejoin the tour...
We then hit the big climb of the day, working our way up the valley between the impressive mountain peaks of ..TBD
I was feeling much improved on yesterday! Just a bit lacking in energy, which was fine since we trucked along at only a moderate pace.
We crested the col between the mountain peaks and after some food at the hut there, we started down the precipitous far side.
After some nice traversing and lots more downhill, we were finally on the (ski) trail down into Selva.
