Ireland Bus Tour part 2

Damn! Ps and Ws! I seem to have accidentally permanently deleted the first bit of this blog, covering the first few days of my Ireland Bus Tour...

Wednesday 31 August 2022
Today I had another early run through Killarney National Park.

Our tour today went around the Ring of Kenny. Epic views 😃

An old house.
We went to see a shepherd and his rather amazing sheepdogs.
We saw the amazing Cahergall stone fort, over 1000 years old, massive construction! You can walk around on the walls.
After lunch in Portmagee, we went to see awesome views on the nearby island.
We went to Derrynane House, where Daniel O'Connell lived. (Irish independence guy) It has amazing gardens and the nearby beach is neato.
Thursday 1 September
We finished of our tour today with the longish drive back to Dublin.
Along the way we stopped at Blarney Castle, which is an impressive old thing. You can walk up inside the winding narrow staircase steps to get up onto the parapets, and kiss the blarney stone.... So I did!

This means that I now have the gift of bullshitting eloquently 😃

We then cruised past the Rock of Cashew.
Or last stop was Kilkenny Castle, which was gifted to the state in 1967 with the proviso that it be restored in the Victorian style. I did a guided tour which was pretty interesting.
