Race Day
I drove Nev and Jack out to Totara Park. Will was away, and Barnaby still playing hard to get.
Ed and co were there, and Michal and Daniel.
We chatted to Evan Greenwood, who then joined RLC. Also, later, Ed convinced young Ben Gatting to join RLC, which was great since he won the superlong overall!
The weather was unsettled, but ok. It had been a rainy week, but luckily Saturday was fine so the mud had mostly dried out.
Race
I ran solidly hard from the start, and quickly put some distance on Nev. I paced myself better than last year, and didn't bonk terribly at the end. Uneventful for me, although Nev got chased by a mad cow which he had to jump behind a log to escape!

I felt like I ran fast and to the max, but on reflection my time (2 minutes slower than last year, on the same course) doesn't really look too impressive. Oh well! It turned out that I was 3rd in 50+, one of whom was the overall 2nd placer, who smashed me by 9 minutes. Ouch!
Jack wiped out the opposition in the under 13 category (again!).
Michal and Daniel did very well again in their run.
Ed (who came first in his category again!) and friends also had some great results.
